I have this Turn-Based-Strategy framework and I have no idea of what it should become
About a few weeks ago I finished the framework of a TBS game, it has all you needed it to have. Tiles, Units, a Pseudo-Manual Pathfinding algorithm(Just like the ones you see on Advance wars, Wargroove, etc.) and a player controller.
But now I am lost, I kept the framework on its basic form until I eventually decide what it will become. I have this very complicated fictional universe that I have kept to myself and to a few of my friends about a war between two sides. At one point the MC of that fictional universe gets dragged into a world made from his distorted mind.
At first I wanted to just make an advance wars clone and add my own touch to it. At the same time I could do a rogue like because of the side story of my Fictional Universe.
I’m terribly lost and depressed, also a bit suicidal cause I just can’t stand it when I’m undecisive(which is all the time BTW). I’m 18, I have no idea what I’m doing, I’m looking at being a game designer/developer as my future job. I have made only 2 projects so far, 1 card game and then this one and I’ve only been designing games for about a year now.
As you can see I lack experience and I’m trying to build up a portfolio of sorts. I seek your advice, fellow designers. (am I considered a designer? should I be using the word fellow?)
